Maptote

Michael Berick was the first person I met in college. He lived next door to me in the dorms and we've been close friends ever since. He actually slept on my couch and then shared an apartment with me here in NYC. A few years back he and his wife, the lovely Rachel Rheingold, decided to start making tote bags with silk-screened maps on them. They touted them around some shops in Brooklyn and boom, the next thing you know they're going to be on the Martha Stewart show today. Congrats guys. We took their previous site which was pretty product heavy and tried to give their brand more of a lifestyle feel. They've added interesting older/borderline cheesy postcards to most of the city pages and some fun facts to show you their in it for more than just a map and a one-way ticket out of town. The fantastic Kate Mathis contributed some great photos which help bring the site to life. Caroline took control of the Wordpress Shopp plug-in (and all it's funny inconsistencies) and has it ticking like a Swiss train. I hope it continues to be a successful site for these guys and their business just keeps going up and up. Check out their extensive product line for some great gift ideas.
